The investigative thriller focuses on human trafficking of young girls. Madhava Menon a.k.a. Mad Maddy (Mohanlal) is an encounter specialist who dares to take decisions on the spot, without always waiting for orders from the top. He initiates the investigation of abduction of girls trapped by the mafia behind. The film attempts to make the society aware how kids are trapped by the mafia groups taking advantage of technology like mobile phones. Involved with child trafficking, the movie dwells into the flesh trade booming in the international scenario. The film also throws light on the diminishing joint family system in the society. Stressing that when the society moves on with Nucleus Family Culture, what is getting de-rooted is the bonding between the family members and the security that they offer with love and affection to the future generation. After Joshiy's Lokpal,Mohanlal has joined Lal Jose's long time associate Salaam debut film "Red Wine". The highlight of the movie is the inclusion of Fahad Fazil in the cast along with Asif Ali, who are part of a Mohanlal movie for the first time in their respective careers.The film is scripted by newcomer Maman K Rajan and the tunes are set by Bijipal.The film is produced by Gireesh Lal under the banner Gouri Meenakshi Movies. Now the Movie shooting started at kozhikode.

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is set to enact the role of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan in a film by actor-director Anant Mahadevan.

Narayanan was charged with leaking defence secrets in 1994 but was subsequently exonerated from the charges. Earlier this month, the Kerala High Court asked the state government to pay him Rs 10 lakh as interim relief.

Mahadevan said discussions with Narayanan have been on for the last six months.

A film inspired from 'Kadal', a novel by renowned novelist T.Padmanabhan. Run Baby Run will be relesing on August 29

Let us wait to see another versatile movie directed by the renown director Joshi.

In the upcoming project, "Run Baby Run", he presents current affairs. The movie deals with an attempt of revealing an exclusive news story by three reporters-Venu, Renuka and Rishy. Mohanlal plays the role of a channel reporter (Venu), who comes to Kerala from Delhi on duty. The roles of Renuka and Rishy is played by Amala Paul and Biju Menon respectively.

Director Joshi strives to make the movie a crime thriller

After almost twenty years from their last film together, Superstar Mohanlal and ace director Siddhique are joining hands for yet another movie. Titled 'Ladies and Gentleman', Siddhique has almost completed the story discussions with Lal this week and will be finalizing the script soon. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor in the banner of Aashirwad cinemas, Siddhique who is gradually working on his second Hindi project after the big hit 'Bodyguard' will kick start the shoot for this movie only by the opening months of next year.

The code to make an exuberant comic entertainer is not easy to crack. But for the duo of Rafi and Mecartin, making a comic drama is not something they sweat over. In fact, it’s a challenge that they are always eager to take up. The writers-turned-directors are coming up with a new movie this year, their third flick with Mohanlal.

“Our next directorial venture will have Mohanlal playing the lead role, the shooting of which will commence this year end. It will be a comic entertainer like our previous ones,” says Mecartin.
Meanwhile, the shooting of ‘Mumbai Dosth’, scripted by Rafi and Mecartin with Prithviraj and Jayasurya playing the protagonists will start by May first week. “‘Mumbai Dosth’ is directed by debutante Fazal. The movie is like a travelogue that will unfold in a funny manner. Hyderabad and Kochi are the main locations where the shooting will take place,” he says adding that both these movies will have quipster numbers to tickle the funny bone of the new gen viewers.

The film carries favorable reports and shall be profitable. Grandmaster is the maiden distribution venture of UTV in Mollywood. It has got a far smaller release when compared to other Mohanlal flicks in recent times. Grandmaster released in 70 screens in Kerala on 3 May 2012. A good first week of about 4 - 4.50 Crores shall be magnificent for such a movie. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwala and Sidharth Roy Kapoor of UTV Motion Pictures, at a budget of 6 Crores.Satellite right is not sold for 3.25 crores its 4crores. Asianet TV was ready to pay 3.50Crores but Surya TV bagged its for 4Crores

The opening day gross was nothing to rave about, as the film released on a Thursday. Grandmaster opened to about 80% on the opening day, grossing just about 65 Lakhs, but picked up by 15-20% on the weekend. The film carries favorable reports and shall be profitable if it does not fall more than 45-50% during the weekdays.
